January-March 2020
Registration and Payment
Registration
To join the forró classes, you first need to fill in this form. [Link removed because registrations are now closed. Registrations for the next trimester will open mid-March]. By registering, you accept these terms and conditions.
It is not possible to be reimbursed for missed classes, or to transfer them to the next term. However, under certain conditions, you can catch up with the class at a different time (see below).
Payment
Payment should be made by bank transfer to the following account (for classes and Thursday workshops ONLY). If you cannot or prefer not to arrange online payment, the full amount should be made in cash at the first class. Note that your place is only reserved once payment has been received.
Sarah Collings / IBAN : BE42 3770 6973 5054 / BIC : BBRUBEBB
Communication: First name + Last name + Level X + day of the class
(Replace X with 1, 2 or 3 depending on your level. If you don't know which level to join, leave X in the reference).
Late payment
If payment is not settled by your fourth week of class, we have to charge an additional administrative fee of 20 euros. If you register before the start of term, the four weeks are counted from the first class (including the Open Door Week). If you register after the start of term, the four weeks are counted from the date of registration or your first attendance in class. You will receive a reminder after two weeks.
Reservation of your place
Your place is only reserved once payment has been received. Some levels may reach full capacity so we recommend paying in advance to guarantee your place. If you pay before being allocated a level, a place will be reserved for you in both of the relevant levels until your level is confirmed by Sarah. If you are unable to attend the level allocated, you will receive a full refund. See below for full details of this.
Flexibility and Advantages
Early payment
If you register and pay for the full or double trimester before December 26th, a thematic workshop of your choice from the January-March programme is included in the price. For this to apply, payment must reach our bank account on or before December 26th.
To use your "voucher", register for any Thursday thematic workshop between January and March by emailing dance@sarahforro.com and mention in the email that you would like to use your Early Bird Registration voucher.
Catching up on a class
If there is a second group for your level, you can catch up on a missed class in the same week, the week before or the week after the missed class. Please notify Sarah in advance in person or via message.
Ideally, you would take the catch up class in the same week in order to cover the content that you missed.
Flexi-trimester
If you cannot join for the full trimester, there is a flexi-trimester option available which entitles you to 7 classes and is valid for one trimester. When your seven classes are used up, you have to pay the teacher in cash at the start of each additional class. Flexi-trimester holders receive a discount on the per class rate: 12 euros per class instead of 14 euros.
People who register for a flexi-trimester should note that we reserve the right to prioritise full registrations over flexi-trimester registrations. This applies in exceptional circumstances only where differentiating between the types of registration will have a significant positive impact on the quality of the learning, the group coherence and progression.
The flexi-trimester pass is valid for a single level on a specific day. If your specific circumstances mean a more flexible approach is required, please contact Sarah via email to discuss this. We cannot guarantee that exceptions will be made, but where possible we will do our best to take into account your specific circumstances, as long as this doesn't risk having a negative impact on the other students.
Access to lower-level classes
By registering for Level 2 or 3, you also gain access to the lower level classes.
-
Full trimester/double trimester -> unlimited access.
-
Flexi-trimester -> access to 7 lower level classes during the trimester.
Important details for students who join a lower level class:
-
Students from the higher levels will swap roles and/or step in or out of the exercise when necessary to ensure a good balance of leaders and followers
-
If the room reaches maximum capacity, the students registered for the level have priority over those from higher levels
-
Students from the higher levels are there to participate, learn and enjoy the class. Behaviour that disrupts the class is not appropriate. Students will be informed if their behaviour causes a problem and repeat occurrences will lead to the student(s) losing their right to attend the lower level classes
Starting the classes
Free Trial Class
The first week of Level 1 is a free trial class. This class is also the first class of the trimester.
It is not necessary to register for the free trial class, you can just come along on the day. That said, in the exceptional situation of reaching the maximum capacity of the room, places for the free trial class will be allocated accordingly:
1) students who have already registered and paid have priority over non-registrations
2) early arrivals have priority over later arrivals
Places are only reserved upon receipt of payment, and some levels may reach full capacity for leaders, for followers or for both roles in advance of or shortly after the free trial class. Participation in the free trial class does not therefore not guarantee a place.
To guarantee a place, you can register and pay in advance of the free trial class. You have 48 hours after the free trial class to notify us via email if you do not wish to continue with the trimester and your payment will be refunded in full.
Only Level 1 has a free trial class. There are no free trial classes for Levels 2 and 3.
Joining the course during the trimester
- with some prior knowledge of forró
If you already have some knowledge of forró, it may be possible to join a course during the trimester depending on the current composition of the group (size and balance of leaders/followers). Send Sarah an email in advance and she will arrange for you to attend a Level 1 class where we will dance with you and advise you with level would benefit you most.
There is no free trial class available for students who start during the trimester, all classes should be paid for (this does not include the first Level 1 class if you are allocated to a higher level).
- without any prior knowledge of forró
If you would like to start learning forró, you can join Forró Discovery (Level 1) up to and including the third week of class. After this, you must have some knowledge of the basics before joining the group to avoid hindering the other students' learning. Send Sarah an email to enquire as to the possibilities (introduction workshops, private classes, initiations).
There is no free trial class available for students who start during the trimester, all classes should be paid for.
Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellations
To cancel a registration following a free trial class or an orientation session (if applicable for this trimester), please see above.
Refunds
Payments can be refunded or transferred in the following cases only. It is not possible to be reimbursed for missed classes, or to transfer them to the next term.
-
For administrative reasons:
-
If you register and pay for a level before receiving notification that the level is full, you will receive a full refund.

If you decide to move to the new group, you have the right to cancel after the first class in the new group. If you decide not to switch groups, your payment will be reimbursed (minus any classes which already took place in the group that was cancelled).
